“wysiwtf”?

You may be asking yourself, “what the **** is ‘wysiwtf’ supposed to mean, anyway?” If so, then congratualtions - you’re halfway there already! If not, well, you probably have more important things to think about.

Anyway, “wysiwtf” is a combination of two acronyms that have recently entered modern language due in large part to technology advances and the Internet.

WYSIWYG + WTF? = WYSIWTF?

WYSIWYG: What You See Is What You Get
(wiz-ee-wig)
Traditionally used to describe software applications that display an approximation of an end-result on screen when editing. Examples include word processing (Word), desktop publishing (InDesign) and web publishing (Dreamweaver) applications.

WTF: What The F**k?
Exclamation of disbelief usually used in chat, text and forum communication.

So what’s the point?

Well, sometimes in my experiences in web development and the Internet in general, I run across things that just leave me dumb-founded (or flabbergasted, take your pick). Sometimes ridiculous, sometimes useful, sometimes just down-right retarded.

And there you go. Maybe you will learn something. Maybe you will be mildly amused. Or maybe you will think “jeez, I’m glad someone else noticed that”. Regardless, thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again real soon.
